Role Overview

A Pharmaceutical Microbiologist is required to join the Teva Pharmaceuticals team in a permanent role. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching and directing technicians in all aspects of microbiology testing and tasks across the laboratory.

About the Role

This exciting position involves providing testing support when required for raw materials, bulk, and finished product. The ideal candidate will assist with coordinating testing activities, complete complex investigations using root cause analysis, trending results, and finding corrective or preventative actions.

  • Documentation - checking and approval of batch documentation, ensuring a high level of compliance in accordance with CGMP and maintaining performance through regular review of data and data management systems.
  • Testing - providing testing support when required for raw materials, bulk, and finished product, assisting with coordination of testing activities, and completing complex investigations using root cause analysis, trending results, and finding corrective or preventative actions.
  • Trend and review LIMS results or product review reports in accordance with company procedures.
  • Training - training of laboratory/site personnel in microbiology techniques and knowledge.
  • Review and approval of microbiology data and other appropriate documentation, supporting the Microbiology Department and deputising for Team Leader if required.
  • Acting in a QC Quality Assurance Unit capacity independent from testing activities for raw material/component release.
What We're Looking For?

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmaceutical Microbiologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree qualification within a relevant science-based discipline.
  • Significant experience within a pharmaceutical microbiology environment.
  • Technical knowledge and expertise in a regulated microbiology laboratory environment.
  • An understanding of GMP/EP requirements and regulator expectations.
  • Aseptic Techniques knowledge.
  • Technical Report writing experience would be desirable.
  • Computer-literate with experience in the use of Laboratory databases (e.g., LIMS) and some Quality systems (Deviation, Change Control, CAPA support, Documentation).
Key Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and train others in microbiology techniques and knowledge.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £40,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
