The Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) is a leading organisation in the field of nuclear criticality safety. We are seeking a skilled Criticality Safety Expert to join our team and contribute to the delivery of criticality safety assessments for nuclear facilities.

As a Criticality Safety Expert, you will have a strong technical understanding of nuclear physics and be able to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems. You will work closely with our technology centres, operations, project management, engineers, and conventional safety case teams to ensure that criticality safety assessments are delivered on time and to a high standard.

The successful candidate will have an honours degree in science, mathematics, engineering or a closely related discipline, and experience in using fundamental engineering and scientific skills. Familiarity with assessment and analysis methodologies used in the field of criticality safety is also desirable.

The salary for this role is £38,000 - £46,000 per annum, plus a contributory pension scheme and 270 hours of annual leave. The working pattern is flexible, with opportunities for professional career development and continuous professional development opportunities.
