About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Care Practitioner to join our team at Cromwell Hospital. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care and supporting the consultant surgeon in the safe operation of our robotic surgical system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the consultant surgeon in the safe positioning of patients, male and female catheterization, skin preparation, and sterile draping.
  • Perform advanced surgical procedures, including incising skin, applying diathermy to tissue, inserting and fixing drains, and primary and secondary closure of surgical wounds.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to manage surgical patient pathways and provide expert advice on patient care.
  • Support the development of clinical governance within the department and ensure that documentation is maintained to the hospital's standard.
Requirements
  • RN 1st level registration or Registered ODP.
  • RCS Basic Surgical Skills Course - SFA qualification.
  • SCP training completed or undertaking.
  • ENB 176/183/182 or equivalent.
  • Teaching/assessing qualification - ENB 998 or equivalent.
