Job Description: Senior Chef de Cuisine

As a Senior Chef de Cuisine, you will work closely with our Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, uphold our high culinary standards, and help create exceptional Italian dishes. You will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen staff, managing food preparation, and ensuring that all dishes are made to perfection.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet our culinary standards.

2. Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring that all culinary tasks are performed to the highest standards, promoting teamwork and a positive kitchen environment.

3. Ensure consistency and quality control across all dishes, with a particular focus on authentic Italian cuisine, maintaining our reputation for excellence.

4. Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients, particularly fresh pasta, meats, seafood, and other key Italian ingredients, maintaining a well-organized and efficient kitchen.

5. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations, adhering to our high standards.

6. Assist in the development of new menu items, seasonal specials, and innovative Italian dishes, incorporating modern cooking techniques and traditional recipes.

7. Ensure kitchen staff follows proper food handling procedures, hygiene standards, and safety protocols, promoting a safe working environment.

8. Help with staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations, fostering a positive and productive team culture.

9. Step in to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, demonstrating leadership skills and culinary expertise.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end Italian restaurant or a fine-dining setting, with a strong track record of culinary excellence.

2. Good knowledge of traditional Italian cuisine and modern cooking techniques, with a passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes.

3. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

4. Excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful and delicious dishes, with a focus on quality and consistency.

5. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen management best practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.

6. Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience is a plus, demonstrating a high level of culinary expertise.
