Substantive Consultant Anaesthetist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients, contributing to research and teaching, and participating in performance management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to patients, ensuring excellent patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Contribute to research and teaching, providing high-quality training to medical undergraduates, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in performance management, working with medical, nursing, and managerial colleagues to ensure high performance in quality of outcomes, financial management, and other key areas.
Requirements
  • FRCA or equivalent qualification.
  • CCT in Anaesthesia or equivalent (on or within 6 months of inclusion on Specialist register at time of interview).
  • Higher Degree.
  • Experience with management of high-risk patients, implementation of Quality Improvement processes/audit, and previous consultant-level experience.
  • Advanced Training in Obstetric Anaesthesia, Preoperative Assessment, and Acute Pain.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficiency with regional Anaesthesia, especially upper limb blocks.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and track record of achieving sustained change.
