Responsibilities
The Advanced Practice Provider plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care, operating within the scope of training and approved agreements as outlined by their governing board.
- Developing comprehensive health histories, reviewing patient records, and creating detailed medical assessments to order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies
- Formulating medical and nursing diagnoses, instituting therapy, or referrals to healthcare facilities, agencies, and resources
- Instituting emergency measures and treatment in critical situations, such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions
- Interpreting and analyzing patient data to determine patient status, management, and treatment
- Providing instructions and guidance on healthcare and health promotion to patients, families, and significant others
Benefits
