GIS Analyst and Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst and Trainer to join our team at Flowminder Foundation. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the production of data products and providing capacity strengthening to ensure that end users can utilize them effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Training: Develop and deliver training sessions on GIS outputs, user need, and data analysis to various partners in the project.
- GIS Analysis: Collaborate with Spatial Data Analyst on analysis workflows, data management, and generation of data products.
- Coordination and Engagement: Work closely with the UK-based Project Manager to support the coordination of Flowminder's activities across project countries.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (geography, social statistics, geographic information systems).
- Excellent skills in GIS software (ArcGIS and/or QGIS).
- Experience in using and managing geo-referenced data.
- Professional knowledge in data analysis, statistics, or data-related fields.
- Confident in designing and delivering training, ideally in GIS analysis and/or statistical analysis and/or demography.
- Experience in reporting analytical findings and in data visualisation.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to explore emerging methods of online training delivery.
- Good understanding of low and middle-income country contexts.
- Experience working with government agencies and on humanitarian and development data-related challenges.
- Contributions to the development of software solutions for data-related activities.
- Ability to write well-documented, maintainable code (python, R, etc) and use version control software (including git).
- Competitive Salary.
- 37.5 hours per week, with flexible working hours.

- 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (pro rata).
