About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa, part of Hand Picked Hotels. As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional culinary experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen, ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas, working closely with the culinary team to create innovative and delicious dishes.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a passion for food, exceptional customer service, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge, ensuring you remain up-to-date with the latest culinary trends and techniques.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a quality-driven hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the kitchen team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Emotional intelligence and a customer-focused approach, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.

  • Full-time role working 5 days out of 7, including weekends on a rota basis, with 44 hours per week.
