This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

This Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for managing the shift maintenance team, overseeing performance and quality, achieving and maximizing efficiency of processes, and delivering a preventative maintenance scheme for fixed and mobile plant. The ideal candidate will have experience as an Engineering (Supervisor or Manager) / Maintenance (Supervisor or Manager) within a similar heavy manufacturing industry and line management experience will be essential.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the shift maintenance team and oversee performance and quality.
  • Oversee the delivery of a preventative maintenance scheme for fixed and mobile plant.
  • Achieve and maximize efficiency of processes.
  • Drive achievement of optimum Overall Operations Effectiveness (OOE) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Monitor and report key successes and deficiencies across site (performance, product, equipment, people) to management.
  • Lead, manage and develop a team, optimizing engagement, and overall team performance.
Requirements

The successful applicant will be instrumental in the future development and support of the engineering culture to achieve the benefits available through reactive, proactive and our continuous improvement strategy. To be considered, you will need:

  • Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems knowledge and/or Electrical systems.
  • HNC/HND in a related discipline along with a recognized apprenticeship or BEng would prove highly beneficial.
  • Challenge people, hold them accountable for job completion and quality of completion.
  • Computer literate - familiarity with computer software (word, excel, etc).
  • Good communication skills, with a positive, proactive can-do attitude to your team and others.
  • Continuous Improvement techniques, Lean methodology, Six Sigma and FMEA and Root Cause Analysis investigative methods.
