Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Residential Care Officer to join our team at the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. About the Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a close-knit team to deliver care and support services in a residential setting. You will be responsible for creating a warm, enabling, and inclusive environment that meets the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children in your care. Your dedication, empathy, and strong communication skills will be essential in building trusting relationships with the children, their families, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality care and support services to children with disabilities in a residential setting.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that promotes the emotional, social, and physical well-being of the children.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children, promoting their independence and self-esteem.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your knowledge and skills in working with children with disabilities.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, including:

  • A salary of £29,576 - £32,501 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Inclusive allowance of 8.5% for unsocial working hours.
  • Rota includes 2 weekends off out of 4.
  • South Yorkshire Pension Authority contributions.
  • Overtime paid at time and a quarter.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A QCF Level 3 qualification in health and social care or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children with disabilities, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
