At the International Institute for Strategic Studies, we are seeking a highly skilled Visual Storyteller for Strategic Insights to join our team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to leverage your expertise in data visualization and design to create engaging and informative graphics that showcase our research and analysis. As a key member of our design team, you will work closely with our researchers to develop stimulating graphics that turn complex data into compelling visual content.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with researchers to develop and design interactive visualizations that bring our research to life.
  • Transforming complex data sets into visually exciting and engaging content for our website, social media, and other digital channels.
  • Guiding and educating research staff on the effective use of data visualization to communicate insights and analysis to key audiences.
  • Collaborating with our communications team to create content for our social media channels and other digital platforms.
  • Developing our digital style guide to ensure a cohesive online presence and ensuring continuity between our print and digital output.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in design, digital, graphic, or product.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience using Adobe Creative Suite (AfterEffects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Strong skills in storyboarding creative narratives, producing proof of concept visuals, layout, typography, and infographic creation.
  • A thorough understanding of social media platforms and their visual language.
  • Portfolio showing sharp, clean approaches to animation and data visualization across different devices.
