Support Worker for Children with Learning Difficulties

The school is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to support small groups of children with learning difficulties, helping them access the curriculum and engage in school life. This role plays a vital part in supporting the academic progress, social development, and emotional well-being of the students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to small groups of students with learning difficulties, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
- Help students develop social skills through group activities and one-on-one interaction.
- Support children in building confidence, improving their communication skills, and managing their behaviour in the classroom setting.
- Monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to the SENCo and teachers.
- Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in an SEN setting or with children with learning difficulties is preferred.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach are essential for this role.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- A clear DBS check.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
