We are seeking an exceptional Head of English to lead our English department and shape the academic environment of our school. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an outstanding English curriculum that caters to the needs of our students.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in leading English departments and cultivating a culture of academic excellence. You will be expected to inspire and motivate students and staff, while ensuring effective use of resources and technology within the department.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the English department, providing guidance and support to teachers
  • Develop and implement an engaging and comprehensive English curriculum
  • Collaborate with other academic leaders to enhance cross-curricular initiatives
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and implementing strategies for improvement
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Ensure effective use of resources and technology within the department
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding students' academic performance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field
  • Teaching certification and relevant teaching experience
  • Proven experience as a Head of English or in a similar leadership role
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
