About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and diligent Maintenance Operative to join our facilities team at CATS Global Schools. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our schools and boarding residences. Your primary responsibility will be to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including painting, basic plumbing and electrical works, cleaning, gardening, and caretaking duties across our campuses.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including painting, decorating, and minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
  • Perform basic plumbing and electrical works, including unblocking sinks, drains, and sanitary appliances.
  • Clean and maintain external areas, including sweeping, leaf blowing, weeding, and salting during winter months.
  • Ensure the security of buildings, including unlocking and locking up, and undertake regular campus checks to ensure safety and working order.
  • Participate in an on-call duty as part of a rota and undertake additional duties during the summer school period.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, follow instructions and adhere to processes, and use your own initiative when required. You will also need to have strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Additionally, you will need to be flexible and adaptable, and have good communication skills (English level B1 minimum) and a teamwork attitude.
