Join the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government as a Cyber Security Lead.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Lead to join our team in the Digital Directorate. As a key member of our Cyber Security team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on cyber security matters to the department.

Your primary focus will be on leading the development and maintenance of security policies and associated documentation, as well as providing support to internal and external stakeholders in aligning with these policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide cyber security advice and guidance to the department, acting as the champion and face of the team across various forums.
  • Lead on the development and maintenance of security policies and associated documentation.
  • Support all internal and external stakeholders in aligning with security policies and documentation.
  • Conduct periodic checks of various technologies and processes across stakeholders in an internal/external audit capacity.
  • Support those stakeholders in developing and implementing remediation plans.

You will also be responsible for providing cyber security input to governance forums, including Change Advisory Boards and Technical Design Authorities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need significant experience in an Information Security/Assurance related role(s), with knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry/HMG standards.

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

A strong understanding of information security principles, concepts, and best practices is essential, as is experience with risk assessment methodologies and tools.

Familiarity with security principles and technologies for cloud hosted services, such as AWS, Azure, and SaaS, is also required.

Professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC, are highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £56,748, plus an employer contribution of £16,439 towards your pension scheme.
