About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic to join our team as a Lecturer in Computing. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and researching in the area of cyber security, with a focus on distance learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching
Design and deliver high-quality distance learning curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, incorporating innovative and effective teaching approaches.
Contribute to the development of academic excellence by promoting employability and career progression for students.
Research, Scholarship and Knowledge Exchange
Pursue high-quality research or scholarship in subjects related to the School, enhancing our links with industry and enabling teaching and research collaborations.
Contribute to the vibrant scholarship environment in the School.
General
Act as an ambassador for the academic excellence of the School, Faculty, and University, taking responsibility for administrative and/or other academic duties as required.
Contribute to outreach activities and have excellent written and spoken English skills, with the ability to offer and receive constructive criticism.
Essential Requirements
A PhD or substantial industry experience in cyber security, with expertise relevant to the School and a good understanding of recent developments.
Ability to contribute to the distance teaching of CS subjects, particularly Penetration Testing and Digital forensics.
Experience of producing distance/online learning materials and assessment materials, as well as supporting students in a distance/online learning setting.
Fellowship (or higher) of the UK Higher Education Academy, or equivalent teaching experience/standing.
