Job Title: Senior Financial Auditor
">About Us: Armstrong Knight is a leading provider of accounting services, dedicated to delivering exceptional results for our clients.
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience
Job Description:- To review the work undertaken by junior accountants and provide timely feedback on all tasks undertaken, where necessary assisting with additional training.
- To prepare complex financial statements, including VAT controls, PAYE controls, and other challenging areas that may require expert attention.
- To draft annual accounts in accordance with current reporting legislation and accounting standards, ensuring compliance through detailed disclosure checklists.
- To verify that financial working papers are correctly prepared in line with Practice procedures, with all lead schedules agreeing to the accounts provided for review.
- To prepare draft tax computations for corporate clients, reviewing and refining them as needed.
- To create schedules and controls required for management accounts, in a format agreed with the Accounts Manager.
- To communicate with clients to gather information for accounts preparation, addressing any queries raised.
- For audit clients, to follow instructions and plans provided by the Audit Manager, undertaking bank transaction testing, sales and purchase directional testing, profit and loss schedules, Fixed Asset Testing, Debtors and Creditors testing, and less complex areas.
- To report findings from audit work to the Audit Manager, highlighting any issues that may have arisen.
- To train junior accountants in accordance with the Practice's training programme, helping to identify training needs and providing encouragement and empathy when necessary.
Requirements:
- Expert knowledge of financial accounting, taxation, and auditing principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
