Location: Wigan
Type: Full-time
Contract: Temporary (with potential for permanency)
About the School:
The school is a successful and oversubscribed 11-16 secondary school with an excellent track record for achieving the best possible outcomes for its pupils.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Assistant to provide personal care support to a young female student with wheelchair requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong character, be calm when dealing with challenging behavior, and be able to build a good working relationship with the student to help her progress.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance as required
- Support the student in accessing the curriculum and participating in class activities
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualized learning plans
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communication with parents/carers
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- DBS clearance or willingness to undergo checks
