Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of between £35,000 - £55,000 per annum, dependent on experience. In addition to a generous base salary, we offer a range of benefits, including:

  • A discretionary annual bonus opportunity of up to 15%
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Science Model Development Professional to join our Models and Ratings team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining bank models, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing analytics, model development, and reporting duties for the Models and Ratings team
  • Supporting the implementation of models across the organisation and providing expert assistance to ensure practical use, application, and documentation
  • Ensuring that models and rating systems are fit for purpose and can be relied upon to accurately assess capital and IFRS9 reporting requirements for credit risk and impairment modelling
  • Supporting Risk in providing an informed view of the credit profile of the bank, potential impairments, and stress testing of the same
  • Undertaking analysis to support the assurance that the requirements for an IRB firm and IFRS9 are being met
  • Developing and monitoring IRB, IFRS9, and other Bank models to deliver accurate Expected Loss (EL) for the portfolio and cohorts

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess advanced mathematical, modelling, and quantitative analysis skills, with experience in using data modelling and data analysis software, such as SAS or WPS. Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visual Basic, are also essential. Previous experience of working in a Risk environment, model building or validation, quantitative analysis, and data manipulation is desirable.
