Job Summary:

The Pastry Sous Chef will play a crucial role in the overall operation of our pastry service, ensuring a consistent delivery and standard at all times. This position requires a skilled and experienced pastry chef who can lead by example and support the development of junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the effective running of our pastry service, ensuring timescales and high standards are met.
  • Prepare an array of desserts that utilize the produce within our kitchen garden and sources from local suppliers.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef/Senior Sous and kitchen garden team to ensure the produce being used within the pastry section is of the highest quality.
  • Ensure a clean and tidy workstation at all times.
  • Support the development of our kitchen team, working closely with our Apprentice Chefs.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Pastry Chef within a similar establishment is required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for creating high-quality desserts.
