Job Overview

The Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Anaesthetic and Recovery Nurse to join its team. This role involves providing anaesthetic assistance to anaesthetists in various surgical specialties, including gynaecology, urology, ENT & Maxillo-facial, general surgery, and more.

This position requires the ability to work autonomously with no supervision required, except for those newly qualified. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with students and be able to operate a wide range of equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Providing skilled anaesthetic assistance to anaesthetists
  • Checking anaesthetic machines and controlled drugs
  • Operating a variety of theatre equipment and using related consumables
  • Cleaning and stocking of anaesthetic rooms
  • Safe administration of IV fluids

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. If you are a current Band 5 ODP or anaesthetic nurse, or an ODP student qualifying in 2024, we encourage you to apply.

  • ODP/Nurse qualification
  • Anaesthetic qualification if on the HCPC/NMC register
  • Previous experience with students
