Job Description

We are working closely with an outstanding specialist school in Lichfield, Staffordshire, to find experienced SEN teaching assistants who can provide exceptional support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons, providing one-to-one support to individuals who require additional help, and organizing resources for each lesson.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of lessons
  • Provide individualized support to students who require extra assistance
  • Organize and collect resources for lessons
  • Be a positive role model to inspire and encourage students
  • Use enthusiasm to engage students in lessons
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (desired)
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience managing challenging behavior
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to complete a DBS check or have a current DBS on the update service
  • A passion for education and working with vulnerable young people
