Job Description

The role of SEN Learning Support Practitioner is a crucial one at KITE College, where we provide specialist education and vocational training for young people with SEND.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a SEN Learning Support Practitioner. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting young people aged 16-25 with learning difficulties, including ASD and SEMH, with their vocational programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to learners in the classroom and practical workshops.
  • Work across all vocational areas of the college, including Motor Vehicle, Construction, Hair & Beauty, ICT, Independent Living Skills, and Functional Skills.
  • Support teaching staff in training on various topics and tasks relevant to the curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral support and care to learners.
  • Help prepare and provide learning resources and equipment to deliver the curriculum.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have some experience working with young people with SEND, particularly ASD and SEMH. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
