Job Title: People Advisor and Compliance Team Leader

At Thames Water, we're looking for a seasoned professional to lead our People Advisors and ensure compliance with employment and immigration law. As a key member of our HR team, you'll play a critical role in guiding our team on complex people-related matters, managing right to work and visa processes, and staying up-to-date on immigration law changes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Manage the People Advisors: Ensure they deliver customer-focused responses that encourage self-service and meet service level targets.
  • Ensure Compliance: Guarantee full compliance with SODA approvals, data protection legislation, and security clearance requirements for relevant personnel.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Stay informed on immigration law changes and ensure the People Services Team and managers receive necessary training.
  • Manage Complaints and Requests: Oversee the handling of complaints and fast-track requests, prioritizing them alongside other workload demands.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders in supporting cases.
  • Manage Sponsorship Details: Maintain accurate details in the Sponsorship Management System for both the license and sponsored workers.

What You'll Bring: As a seasoned HR professional, you'll bring strong experience in HR advisory functions, right to work compliance, managing sponsorships, and compliance monitoring. You'll be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Working Pattern: 36 hours per week. Base Location: Hybrid - Clear Water Court, Reading.
