About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Principal Drainage Engineer to join our team at SYSTRA. As a key member of our drainage team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects and providing technical expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage drainage design projects from feasibility to detailed design, including drainage design, Flood Risk Assessments, and associated technical and statutory authority approvals.
  • Develop and supervise junior engineers in the team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs are fully coordinated and meet client requirements.
  • Prepare and price scope/briefs, proposals, and deliverables for new projects, taking commercial responsibility for project delivery.
  • Represent the company externally at a senior level, managing client expectations and relationships.
  • Undertake site visits to monitor project progress and highlight issues to the contractor, client, and/or project manager as necessary.
Requirements
  • MEng/MSc or BEng in Civil Engineering, ideally with Chartered status (ICE or CIHT) or working towards Professional Qualification.
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering, particularly in drainage design and project management.
  • Good knowledge and experience of delivering surface/waste water drainage design and approval processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage dynamic teams and deliver high-quality projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of design teams and project stakeholders.
