Communications Specialist

Service Care Solutions is seeking a skilled Communications Operator to join our team on a 10-month contract.
Job Summary:We are looking for a professional and effective customer service representative to work within the North Wales Police. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality service to the public, receiving and resolving public enquiries, and working closely with external agencies.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a professional and effective customer service to the public, ensuring that enquiries are resolved efficiently and effectively.
- Receive and resolve public enquiries in accordance with force policy, providing advice and taking appropriate action as necessary.
- Interrogate and analyse a broad range of information systems to assess risk and gather relevant supporting data to provide the best and safest resolution to the caller's enquiry/request.
- Record relevant information clearly and accurately into an extensive range of computer systems for a variety of intended audiences, including other police departments and external agencies.
- Liaise with external agencies as appropriate, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Be responsible for the closure of incidents, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken to resolve the situation.
- Distribute messages as appropriate via the force system, including email, telephone, fax, and intranet.
- Direct the nearest police unit to an incident/emergency once the location has been identified, using 'intelligent deployment' to consider and decide upon the most appropriate resources to commit to it.
- Be fully accountable for all deployment decisions, including forward planning and management of resource options, to maximise the efficient use of available resources to respond to Priority 0 and Priority 1 events.
- Inform and direct other relevant emergency services to incidents, such as fire, ambulance, RAF Mountain Rescue, etc.
- Ability to type/word process 25-30wpm.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment or on their own initiative.
- Use of information technology to an intermediate level, including Windows systems and/or relevant experience.
- Ability to evidence problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Good geographical knowledge of North Wales.
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in Communication/Business/Customer-related field, or an equivalent amount of proven relevant experience.
- Welsh Speaking (Level 4/5).
