Credit Management Department Overview

The Credit Management department at Bank of China is responsible for preparing risk assessment reports and credit recommendations to support existing and new business. As a Credit Risk Specialist, you will be responsible for completing credit risk applications and assisting in reviewing risk papers and managing case flows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess proposals submitted to the Credit Management department from front office departments and write credit reports on business proposals, including research and evaluation of counterparty management, industry and transaction risk, financial accounts, cash flows, and forecasts.
  • Compose and update credit applications, including waiver requests, limit renewals, and proposals for new transactions.
  • Attend Credit Committee meetings to present credit reports and answer questions from committee members.
  • Support business strategy definition and on-boarding new Financial Institutions and Corporate clients.
  • Regularly monitor risk situations of borrowers in allocated portfolios and industry risks.
  • Review and enhance internal processes to adopt a dynamic risk-based approach.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to automate tasks, including collection of historic financials and monitoring credit and market signals.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental procedures manuals.
  • Manage the CCMS approval process and work with front office to manage time frames and expectations.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on business strategy, product launches, portfolio management, and monitoring.

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Finance, Business, or Economics.
  • Proven experience in managing large corporate portfolios.
  • Experience in Project Finance and Acquisition Finance is an advantage.
  • Relevant professional qualification is considered useful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Banking products and associated risks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legal documentation specific to Banking and CCP businesses.
  • Demonstrated financial and modelling skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
