Job Purpose

We are seeking a skilled Investment Accountant to provide financial support to our Capital Accounting Business Process team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial reports, setting up projects, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain financial reports detailing spend and profitability by project for the ET unlicensed portfolio.
  2. Ensure timely setup of projects in accordance with approved ET investment proposal papers.
  3. Recognize project costs in the books based on value of work done principles.
  4. Provide accurate and timely month-end reporting to project managers and programme delivery managers.
  5. Run forecast, consolidation, and review processes to provide robust monthly forecasts.
  6. Support processes to ensure approved forecasts and annual budgets are input into local financial systems.
  7. Ensure regional financial controls are efficient and effective.
  8. Work in partnership with UK Shared Services accounting teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of management accounts and reporting statements.

Requirements

  1. Accounting qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar.
  2. Experience of major accounting systems, budgeting and forecasting, financial performance reporting, and engagement with business management.
  3. Business capabilities - commerciality, customer management, data management, and stakeholder management.
  4. Strong ownership to support implementation of new financial processes.
  5. Ability to positively influence behaviours of all involved in the electricity projects financial processes.
  6. Good levels of Excel and data manipulation skills.
