About the Role: MET Strip/Fitter Technician

As a MET Strip/Fitter Technician at Steer Automotive Group, you will play a vital role in our accident repair process. Your main duties will include:

  • Dismantling and reassembling vehicles in line with manufacturer standards and specifications.
  • Conducting detailed inspections to assess vehicle damage and identify repair requirements.
  • Using your expertise to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
  • Collaborating with the Bodyshop team to ensure all repairs are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workspace while adhering to health and safety regulations.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience as a MET Strip/Fitter or in a similar role within the Bodyshop and accident repair industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and Bodyshop equipment.
  • A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • A proactive problem-solving attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. SVQ Level 3 or equivalent) are a plus.
