Advanced Practitioner - Emergency Medicine

As an Advanced Practitioner in Emergency Medicine, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your expertise will be essential in providing senior clinician support and second opinions, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior clinician support and second opinions to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement learning interventions for self and team members to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Audit and research processes to identify areas for quality improvement and implement changes to enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure cost-effective decision-making when requesting investigations, ordering supplies, or booking training/courses.
  • Maintain own continued professional development (CPD) and provide training and education to other staff within the Directorate.
Person Specification
  • NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Paramedic or Physiotherapist.
  • Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
  • Safeguarding Adults (level 3) and Advanced Paediatric Life Support provider (APLS) qualifications.
  • Immediate Life Support provider (ILS) and Paediatric Immediate Life Support provider (PILS) certifications.
  • Completed or working toward accreditation/credentialing with The Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM).
  • Ultrasound Level 1 qualification.
Experience
  • Completed a specific ACP trainee programme and has >5 years specialty experience working at a senior level within Emergency, Urgent or Acute Care setting.
  • Appraisal and recruitment training and awareness of local and national issues relating to healthcare provision.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and working knowledge of Human Resource (HR) policies.
  • Willingness to embrace change and meet the short-term and long-term needs of the Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) directorate.
  • Experience with using Word and Excel and demonstrates understanding of relevant national strategy/policy.
