Job Title: Corporate Tax Manager

At Thames Water, we are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Tax Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our corporation tax affairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the completion and submission of tax returns to HMRC, as well as dealing with related queries and correspondence.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including other teams within Thames Water and companies within the Kemble Group, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration on corporation tax matters.
  • Ensure compliance with tax aspects of securitised financing arrangements and regulatory tax reporting requirements.
  • Provide key tax input into the Ofwat Price Review process and deal with tax-related queries from Ofwat.
  • Supervise and develop the Corporate Tax Advisor and ensure the effective management of tax accounting and reporting for management and statutory purposes.
Requirements:
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with all levels of the business.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to deal with detail and step back to ensure optimal positioning for the Kemble Group.
  • Confidence to work autonomously and escalate matters as and when appropriate.
  • Experience in supervising and developing staff, with a strong track record of success.
  • Exposure to infrastructure or asset-intensive businesses, with a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with this sector.
  • ACA/CTA qualification desired, with preferably in-house experience post-qualification.

  • Competitive salary from £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Annual Leave - 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service, plus bank holidays.
