Salary: The estimated salary for this role is around $160,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on experience and location. As a fully remote position, candidates can work from anywhere in Eastern or Central Time Zones.

Job Description: We are seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic Director of Development to lead renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, battery storage, and green hydrogen, in the MISO, PJM, SPP, and ERCOT regions. The ideal candidate will be independent, capable of taking ownership of a geographic area, and driving projects to Notice to Proceed (NTP).

  1. Project Development: Lead the development of utility-scale and/or community-scale projects in the assigned regions (MISO, PJM, SPP, and/or ERCOT).
  2. Project Management: Drive projects from inception to NTP, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  3. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for project development and geographic expansion.
  4. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  5. Mentorship: Mentor and grow a small team of development professionals, fostering a collaborative and dynamic team culture.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of MISO, PJM, SPP, and ERCOT renewable energy project development experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proven experience in utility-scale and/or community-scale renewable energy project development, i.e. solar, wind, battery storage, and/or green hydrogen.
  • Project Management: Proven success in full lifecycle project development taking projects from greenfield to NTP.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
  • Financial Acumen: Proficiency with financial modeling, budgeting, etc.

Location: This role is fully remote, but preference will be given to candidates based in Eastern or Central Time Zones.

Travel: Up to 50% travel may be required for this role.
