Chief Financial Operations Manager

Currys, a leading retailer of technology in the UK, is seeking a skilled Chief Financial Operations Manager to join their team. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction and innovation, Currys has established itself as a trusted partner for customers.
About the Role:
This role will be based at our Newark Distribution Centre and will involve working closely with the Director of Service Operations to financially manage a significant cost base and drive business growth.
The ideal candidate will have excellent stakeholder management skills, strong commercial acumen, and experience in financial planning and analysis. They will also have a track record of delivering end-to-end solutions in a planned and controlled manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Partnering the Director of Service Operations to develop knowledge of the complex business unit and influence its strategy and plans
- Managing weekly financial performance updates to the Director of Service Operations and Senior Leadership Team
- Defining the forecasting process for Service Operations budgets and presenting a clear and compelling story
- Identifying opportunities to improve business outcomes and influencing delivery through business case creation and presentation
- Tracking implemented initiatives and ensuring benefits align with expectations
- Driving improvements in ways of working across Finance and Operations teams
- Leading and developing the offshore accounting team
- Owning the Service Operations period pack and improving content to reflect business unit changes
Requirements:
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in comprehending complex business areas and identifying opportunities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate complex messages
- Outcome-focused with track record of delivering end-to-end solutions in a planned and controlled manner
- Strong resilience with track record of delivering results in high-pressure environments
- Proactive approach with continuous improvement mindset and experience of instigating and delivering change
- Robust organisational skills with ability to meet stringent deadlines and maintain attention to detail
- Strong financial modelling and system skills including Excel and PowerPoint
- Degree or equivalent in relevant field
- Recognised Accountancy Qualification - ACA, CIMA, ACCA
