We are seeking a skilled Laser Test Engineer to join our team in Rugby. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for the precision optical and mechanical assembly of delicate laser components, testing and characterisation of laser systems, and troubleshooting and problem-solving of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
• Precision optical and mechanical assembly of delicate laser components as part of the production process
• Testing and characterisation of laser systems through defined procedures to a high-quality standard
• Troubleshooting and problem solving of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies
• Analysis of data and presentation of results in a consistent and concise reporting format
• Manage test scheduling and results database
• Continuous focus on improvement of test station accuracy, repeatability, and productivity
• Working knowledge of measurement instrumentation such as optical energy meters, beam profiling equipment, oscilloscopes
• Excellent problem-solving skills based on an analytical approach to tasks
Requirements
This role is ideally suited to graduates in the physical sciences and/or engineering. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively with co-workers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive, positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others.
The estimated salary for this position is £45,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
