An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our client school in Islington, North London as a Teaching Assistant.

About the Role

This is a fantastic chance to gain valuable experience and skills in education, working with children of varying ages and abilities.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to teachers and pupils alike, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion leader
  • Setting challenging and demanding expectations and promoting self-esteem and independence
  • Implementing group or 1:1 intervention to support pupils who have emotional or social barriers to learning
  • Establishing constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils' work
  • Use strategies, under the direction of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals
  • Discuss with the teacher how learning activities are to be organised and what their own support role will be
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • An honours degree (preferably Upper Second) or equivalent
  • Excellent results at GCSE and A Level
  • Enthusiastic and proactive demeanour
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Form professional relationships with students to support social and emotional development
