Job Title: Specialist SEN Teacher

Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a specialist high school in Cardiff seeking a qualified SEN HLTA to join their team.

The school caters to children in KS3 (aged 13-15 years old) with significant social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. Students attending may have witnessed developmental trauma, and the centre focuses on a tailored approach to learning.

The team is looking for someone with previous experience in a similar setting and strong, confident delivery of the KS3 curriculum.

The ideal candidate will be confident, dedicated, and excel in behaviour management.

The role will consist of:

  • Providing tailored support and working with children with SEN (special education needs)
  • Creating a safe environment that allows children to have fun, learn, and succeed
  • Academic support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the teacher

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Level 4 TA qualified or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience teaching KS3 mainstream curriculum
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEN on a voluntary or paid basis

  • Contract Type - Temporary (with possible permanent opportunities)
  • Paid to scale
  • Hours - 8.30-4.00pm (Term Time only) Monday - Friday
