Senior NPD Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior NPD Technologist to join our NPD Team at Pilgrim's Europe.

As a Senior NPD Technologist, you will be responsible for managing the factory side of the NPD process from technical product handover through to post-launch reviews across all areas of the category.

Your key duties will include:

  • Managing the critical path for all products handed over and progressing past Gate 3
  • Documenting control from factory trials, including micro and analytical
  • Assisting the site NPD Manager with the development and implementation of best practice ways of working
  • Managing EPD trial work, suggesting solutions and improvements to the process while gaining buy-in from the operational, product development, and technical teams
  • Managing the factory process development at the site associated with NPD/EPD projects, overseeing or performing factory trials in line with agreed critical paths
  • Overseeing the specification and artwork process to launch
  • Ensuring that all appropriate data from factory trials, such as yields, labour inputs, changeovers, and amendments, are captured for product costings
  • Managing the agenda for pre-production/launch days, ensuring customer expectations are met and wherever possible exceeded
  • Running and/or supporting innovation projects
  • Acting as an ambassador for Pilgrim's Europe, ensuring professional conduct, approach, and personal presentation at all times

Key Requirements:

  • Comfortable working within a meat environment, able to conduct organoleptic assessments/taste panels of meat products (pork, beef, lamb, and poultry)
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Experienced and resilient problem-solver
  • Keen eye for detail
  • HACCP and Food Safety/Hygiene knowledge
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent IT skills for writing, accessing, analysing, and reporting data
  • Good working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and formula writing
  • Proven experience driving an exciting food culture that puts our products at the heart of what we do

Requirements:

  • Degree in food or relevant qualification
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in process (NPI) within a chilled food environment
  • Equivalent transferable experience within Food manufacturing
  • Driving Licence
  • Meat industry experience an advantage
