Microbiologist Assistant

About the Role

Public Health Wales seeks a skilled and dedicated Laboratory Assistant to support our Microbiology team at the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing and processing samples, data entry, and performing routine laboratory procedures under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and checking samples for analysis
• Processing and storing samples in accordance with laboratory procedures
• Data entry into the laboratory information system
• Assisting in the production of reports and results

Requirements

• IBMS Certificate of Achievement Part 1 or 2, or equivalent
• Recent experience working in a Microbiology laboratory or University Laboratory
• Good communication and technical skills
