Job Title: Costume Supervisor

We are seeking a highly organized and methodical Costume Supervisor to join our team at Chessington World of Adventures Resort. As a key member of our Entertainments team, you will be responsible for leading our Costume department throughout the seasons, successfully supporting the live entertainment attractions and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising a team of costume assistants
  • Working closely with the Entertainments and Events creative and operational managers
  • Designing and creating costumes for all events
  • Sourcing fabric and costumes for shows and events
  • Creating quick change, dressing and making plans for costumes
  • Creating rotas
  • Negotiating with suppliers for fabrics
  • Ordering stock
  • General administration and stock taking
  • Laundry and basic cleaning
  • Maintenance/repair of costumes and skin costume characters
  • Support, motivate and confidently lead a team
  • Working to budgets and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Highly organized and methodical
  • Passionate, creative, and quick thinking, with a keen eye for detail
  • People management skills
  • Strong sewing skills (pattern cutting and able to use a sewing machine)
  • Experience with costume design
  • Excellent communication combined with a positive and friendly nature
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within the costume industry
