Chesterfield, Derbyshire, United Kingdom Protocol Education Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a Behavioural Assistant to provide support for students with SEMH needs who may find it difficult or be reluctant to engage in education.

The ideal candidate will be outgoing and confident in their abilities to deal with behavioural difficulties and re-engaging students in education.

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or a passion for improving the outcomes for young people is desirable.

The role involves building rapport with students and creating positive relationships which influence them to regulate their behaviour.

Initially, the position is temporary, but there could be the opportunity for a school to offer a permanent position.

About the School

The school is a co-educational residential special school catering to children aged 7-14 with severe social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

Most students attending the school have behavioural difficulties and associated disorders which have caused problems in mainstream schools.

Each member of staff is fully committed to improving the outcomes of the students and supporting them back into mainstream education.

What We Offer

Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'.

All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
