Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations and Monitoring Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our design build team, you will be responsible for supporting all weapon systems UK products, ensuring operational activities are carried out in line with relevant safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide SQEP input to electrical elements of weapon systems UK current and future portfolio
  • Conduct electrical function checks and fault investigations
  • Participate in offsite trial activities
  • Work closely with the team during solution or future design development
  • Installation and testing of prototypes
  • Organise and control relevant production documentation and assist in the development of work sequences and work instructions
  • Daily support of facility operations activities
  • Define and maintain safe processes for operational activities and ensure that all process activities adhere to current risk assessment and associated safe systems of work

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND Engineering qualification or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to carry out risk assessments, being aware of potential hazards in your area
  • Able to use root cause analysis tools to problem solve
  • Working experience of manufacturing or similar environment, utilising systems, tools and structure to influence outcomes around safety, quality, cost, delivery and people
  • General engineering understanding across design, manufacturing and test processes, and demonstrate the importance of a 'safety first' culture
  • Strong stakeholder management relation across the function and wider business
