About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Platform Operations Engineer to join our team at E1 EDF Trading Ltd. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation: Design and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions to support our business needs.
  • Infrastructure Management: Manage and monitor our enterprise systems, including VMware ESXi, Pure Storage, and Brocade SAN switching.
  • Backup and Recovery: Ensure the backup and recovery of our virtual machines and file services.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts using PowerShell and other scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with our IT Delivery team to design new application architectures and streamline deployment processes.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience with VMware ESXi, Pure Storage, Brocade SAN switching, Windows Server 2012 and later, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Entra ID identity management.
  • Cloud Computing: Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Ubuntu administration.
  • Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell and other scripting languages.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
  • Cohesity: Experience with Cohesity data management solutions.
  • Load Balancing: Knowledge of load balancing techniques and tools.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
  • Kubernetes: Familiarity with Kubernetes container orchestration.
  • Monitoring Software: Experience with monitoring software such as PRTG and Quest.
Business Knowledge

We are looking for candidates with experience in trading and risk management systems for commodities, knowledge of the full trade life cycle, and an understanding of physical and financial commodities trading.

Working Hours

We operate a shift system from 7am-6:30pm on a rota basis. Flexibility is required to meet essential business deadlines, and you must be prepared to work on the 24 x 7 rota and support business critical activities outside normal working hours.
