We are currently seeking a Minerals Strategic Planning Manager to join our team, working primarily in London, the South East, the South West, and South Wales regions. As part of our Regional Land and Mineral Resources Team, you will play a key role in promoting mineral and industrial opportunities and securing planning permissions for the development of strategic land and mineral assets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Establish and review planning strategies to promote each strategic land asset and achieve local plan allocation or planning consent acceptable to the business.
  • Discuss development proposals with local planning authorities and other relevant bodies through formal or informal pre-application routes.
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop long-term relationships and participate in public pre-application events to engage with local communities.
  • Manage and instruct external consultant teams in line with the company's compliance procedures and monitor/report budgets accordingly.
  • If required, submit planning appeals and manage the appeal process.
  • Engage with landowners and/or agents to inform them of progress in line with contractual obligations.
  • Assist the wider Land and Natural Resources team and the Operational business in identifying new land opportunities and acquiring sites under option at suitable terms.

Requirements

  • Chartered status through MRICS or MRTPI professional bodies is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with previous experience in property management and strategic land processes.
