Special Education Needs Specialist

About the RoleThis permanent full-time SEN position involves working with students who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Your primary objective will be to develop tailored learning strategies and provide individualized support to ensure each student reaches their full potential.
As an experienced SEN professional, you will collaborate closely with the school's SEND team to create adaptive lesson plans and interventions that cater to the unique needs of each student. You will also work closely with teachers to modify resources and lesson plans for students with SEND, promoting inclusivity and academic achievement.
- Design and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND, ensuring their specific needs are addressed.
- Develop and deliver differentiated instruction, adapting materials and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments, identifying areas for improvement.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Proven experience working with children with SEND, demonstrating your ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.
- A strong understanding of SEND teaching methodologies and curriculum adaptations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and parents.
- A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
The salary for this role is £30,000 - £46,525 (MPS/UPS), depending on experience, and reflects the importance of recruiting highly skilled professionals to support students with SEND.
