Job Summary

The Automation Experience Manager will play a key role in the overall management of Automation Design initiatives. This position will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing automation projects, as well as overseeing various automation engineering projects and staff. The Automation Experience Manager will act as a liaison to site and customers for project requirements, specifications, plans, and installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage automation projects to meet delivery timelines and budgets.
  • Establish and communicate global and regional automation strategies to the department.
  • Build and manage projects through the organization.
  • Liaise with site and customers on project requirements, specifications, and timelines.
  • Lead the team to review, understand, and interpret requirements and specifications correctly and transform them into design.
  • Coach, mentor, and train engineers within the Automation department.
  • Review and approve quotes prepared on the internal quote system.
  • Monitor key automation metrics, ensure project deadlines are met, and drive improvement within the site.
  • Ensure all engineering time is logged into tracking systems and corresponds to projects.
  • Recruit and retain automation talents within the site.

Management and Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Technical Operations Manager. Direct supervisor job titles typically include Technical Operations Manager and/or Engineering Director or Operations Director.
  • Directly responsible for managing other employees, including hiring, termination, and pay decisions, performance management.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Requirements

  • Knowledge of electronics industries processes.
  • Expert knowledge and skill in project management.
  • Advanced knowledge of EMS industries.
  • Advanced knowledge of automation design and installation.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of working experience in project management for automation equipment or Manufacturing Engineering/Equipments environment.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
