Occupational Therapist OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide quality support and care to our residents at Caron Group, a family of care homes across mid and south Wales.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct occupational therapy assessments for a designated caseload, evaluating occupational performance and enabling residents to achieve independence, productivity, and leisure/wellbeing.
- Develop occupational therapy goals as part of residents' care plans through co-production and effective communication with residents, nursing teams, and external healthcare professionals.
- Support and educate residents and staff on aspects of occupational therapy, including rehabilitation programs, and ensure families are informed of plans in place.
- Participate in formal and informal reporting, including documentation on care home care planning software.
- Contribute to the company's clinical care department, relating to clinical governance arrangements and quality assurance.
- Maintain understanding and knowledge of national guidelines and legislation relating to health and social care.
- Participate in clinical effectiveness and clinical audit procedures, interpreting outcomes and relating to occupational therapy practice.
- Carry out and assist with risk assessments to guide practice, resident safety, and staff safety.
- Demonstrate and critically evaluate current research, applying it to practice within the care home.
- Maintain a professional portfolio to count towards CPD, recording learning outcomes through participation in internal and external development opportunities.
- Be involved in planning, evaluation, clinical pathways, and protocols within the care home/region.
- Utilize IT skills to produce reports and contribute to care planning using electronic care planning software.
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Ability to travel within a geographical area.
- Proficient in computer/IT skills.
- Additional clinical or healthcare-related experience.
- Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance.
- Experience of working within a care home.
