Child Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust. As a key member of our Early Intervention Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, you will play a vital role in improving the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people in Hertfordshire.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality mental health triage and assessments, and offer brief intervention therapy to children and families where a more targeted response is required.
- Work closely with children aged 0-18 and their families to identify and manage mental health needs, and provide support to increase their capacity to do so.
- Collaborate with the Universal Children's Workforce to promote the mental and emotional health of children, young people, and families in the community.
- Support an outreach capacity to engage with vulnerable groups and facilitate access to Specialist CAMHS and other relevant provision.
- Contribute to the promotion and participation in integrated practice and multi-agency support team models.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and exercise professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice.
- Plan and deliver treatment interventions in line with Best Practice and local and National Guidelines.
- Postgraduate qualification relevant to child mental health or accredited as a mental health practitioner.
- Training in a specific mental health intervention such as CBT, attachment-focused, systemic psychotherapy, or creative therapy.
- Experience of working with young people and families in a brief intervention model, maintaining professional boundaries.
- Ability to develop trusting therapeutic relationships and work with children and young people with complex needs, safeguarding, and contextual difficulties.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the wider professional network.
