Job Title: Child Health Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Child Health Nurse to join our team as a Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse in our Knightstone Ward, Pre-operative Assessment, and Orthopaedic Outpatients Department.

About the Role

This is a full-time, 9-month fixed-term position, finishing in April 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the workforce and day-to-day management of our Knightstone Ward, Pre-operative Assessment, and Orthopaedic Outpatients Department, ensuring the safety of patients throughout this process.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinating the workforce and day-to-day management of the ward and department
  • Ensuring the safety of patients throughout the process
  • Leading and managing the nursing team, including effective standard setting, monitoring, and feedback
  • Understanding and applying effective budgetary management, staff and HR management, and clinical governance
  • Developing and implementing improvements to the quality and efficiency of care for patients in the ward and department
Requirements
  • Current NMC/HCPC registration
  • RN/RN (child)/AHP qualification
  • Degree in nursing or health-related topic or relevant evidence of study at degree level
  • Evidence of Masters-level academic study or willingness to work towards Masters in a relevant health-related subject
  • Qualification in Teaching, Assessing, and Mentoring
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Leadership qualification
  • Experience and knowledge of advanced practice/protocols
