Experience a challenging and rewarding career in maintenance with Probus Recruitment Ltd. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our client’s team in the production department at their Preston facilities.

About the Role

This is a full-time position responsible for carrying out all maintenance tasks in the Preston facilities, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. As part of a small engineering & maintenance team, you will ideally have experience within the chemical or similar batch process industry. However, transferable skills are welcomed, and full training will be provided on the products and complex processes involved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine and preventative maintenance tasks on various equipment and systems
  • Identify and report any equipment faults or issues to the Maintenance Manager
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work completed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline (or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with different types of pumps (diaphragm centrifugal and gear pumps), valves/actuators/solenoids, gear boxes, and seals
  • Understanding and experience of pneumatics and hydraulics equipment and symbols
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawings and P&IDs

Familiarity with pressurised equipment and vessels, FLT WAH Confined Space Certification, and Mechanical CompEx qualification would be advantageous. Supervisory or leadership skills would also be desirable.
