Senior HVAC Engineer for Critical Plant Operations

**Job Summary**

At BGIS, we are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Engineer to join our team in the critical plant operations department. As a Senior HVAC Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our heating and hot water plant systems.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide first-line reactive response to critical Heating and Hot water plant issues, including GAS PIPEWORK outside of normal business hours if necessary.
  • Be competent in enabling and resetting critical plant following power outages and service interruptions, leaving it in safe and good working order.
  • Ensure company-issued tools are PAT tested, certified, and logged with the office.
  • Verify that specialist meters are up-to-date with legislation and compliance/technical & industry requirements.
  • Develop skills in estimating time and materials and constructing quotations in support of the Client Supervisor by providing details of parts and works required.
  • Collaborate with local financial control on all re-active and essential repairs through good working practices and working with the Client Supervisor in this area.
  • Monitor and book spares and materials on a job-to-job works order to guarantee financial control and timelines quoted are adhered to.
  • Oversee and maintain site logbooks and Gas Safe records in support of the Client Supervisor.
  • Ensure reactive calls and service delivery are arranged for the client in support of the Service Desk.
  • Read and understand risk assessments and method statements before the works are due to be started and comprehend the full scope of the SSOW.
  • Monitor and record plant information and escalate issues found.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC/Gas equipment.
  • Understand budgetary practices and principles to assist the Client Supervisor in controlling job expenditures.

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in HVAC engineering, preferably with experience in critical plant operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • A valid Gas Safe certificate and a willingness to maintain your certification.
